We the undersigned petition The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to abandon the proposed plans for the Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) proposals for Dedworth/Clewer and also the School Streets Plan proposed for Trevelyan School. More details
More details from petition creator
Objection reasons include:
Residents, businesses and parents of Windsor have not been directly or properly engaged. Most have found out about these proposals by chance
Windsor is a busy commuter town; the council approving many more building applications. People need to work to fund these houses, not get trapped in them in the morning as they can’t exit their own street
Schools & their attendees are spread across the town, some from outside it. They need to travel to schools & some are too young to do so on their own, parents need to bring them
Closing roads, creating barriers, diverting volumes of traffic will increase journey times & costs, cars will sit idling as they can’t join traffic on adjoining roads due to thru volumes. This equals more pollution & poorer air quality
There is no evidence these schemes work, quite the opposite with other councils being sued
On 1st Feb ‘21 Councillor Samantha Rayner made a public post on social media, asking for individuals to have their say, stating that the council wanted to hear residents’ views & will only proceed if it has the support of the residents.
We do not!
