We the undersigned petition The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to install a dual pedestrian pavement / cycle lane down the full length of Harvest Hill Road. More details
More details from petition creator
Harvest Hill Road has a highly dangerous section of road without pavement, which restricts walkers, runners, and cyclists from safely travelling from one end to the other. Few people dare take this route on foot or bike, as they have to walk in a very busy road and put their lives in their hands. The potential ‘alternative’ route of the pedestrian footpath across the golf course is inaccessible for wheelchairs and buggies, especially in poor weather, forcing many residents to drive.
Installing a pavement and cycle lane along the length of Harvest Hill Road will create a connective route from North Oldfield, Cox Green and outer wards down to Braywick Park, the sports grounds and new leisure centre. It will additionally create a route joining Braywick and Ockwell parks, opening up opportunities for longer walks or runs in and between our green spaces.
The addition of this pavement and cycle lane will encourage local residents to walk or cycle rather than drive, supporting them in living healthier lifestyles and aiding the borough’s sustainable travel goals.
